Zoya Lo....yes, another Zoya!

So upon further inspection of this photo, I probably should have busted out the touch up pen, but whatever!

I had no idea that Lo was a character from an MTV show when I ordered this. I was informed by a friend while discussing polishes. More on that later. I ordered it because I like bright pinks and this is as close to neon as I could get without going matte! My only problem with this color is that it's fairly streaky. This is 3 coats. 2 would have been enough if I had been really careful with the second....which I wasn't. I like the end result though & will be wearing this a lot this summer.

Back to the tv show. Apparently Lo is a character on a reality show on MTV. My friend was disgusted that I looked that sort of thing ( which I obviously font since I had no idea)! I asked her what she was wearing. She said "its one of the new Kardasian colors from Nicole." Yeah! I know! Hypocrite! She even knows who THEY are! WTH?!?!?

Zoya Skylar

Zoya promos rock my world! Buy 3 get 3 free? Yes please! So, get ready to see some lovely springy colors! This first one reminds me of a spring thunderstorm. I bought it initially because I LOVE my blues! I am very rarely disappointed with blue nail polish. Skylar has quickly shot to the top of my fave blues though!!!! It's from the True Spring collection. I wasn't wild about most of the colors in this collection, but this one caught my eye. I love it! It's a dusty gray blue with subtle silver and gold flecks. So pretty! Love it when I make an awesome color choice....good for me! :)

Anxiously awaiting The Hunger Games

I got my District 9 3/4 shirt in the mail today. I am such a dork, and I am so stoked!! I think I'll avoid the Internet until after I see the movie. I've only seen the trailer once and want to avoid other potential spoilers.

May the odds be ever in your favor!

The last green for a bit... Essie Sew Psyched

I lusted after this polish for so long, but when it came out, Essie wasn't available at regular retail locations. Guess what this girl got as soon as she saw Essie at CVS? Yep.

Luckily it wasn't disappointing as some lemminged polishes are wont to do.

St Patty's Day mani - butter London British Racing Green

Way to go, Pam. Looking at the blog today, I realized I talked about my St Patrick's Day mani but hadn't posted it! I saw Jacqui's post on The Scholarly Nail and was inspired by her green & gold mani. Hers was a total glitter bomb, you should definitely check it out. I decided to go for a little more subtlety.

I used butter London British Racing Green as my base color and topped it with a coat of Essie As Gold As It gets. I loved the combo! It has a pot o' gold look to it. I have yet to find anything this top coat looks bad with.

Greens - $OPI Gleek Out

This weekend's ridiculously beautiful spring weather had me reaching for a springy, sparkly green when I'd finished with butter LONDON's British Racing Green.

Gleek Out with indirect natural lighting.

Gleek Out is from the Sephora by OPI (or $OPI) Glee Collection (Spring 2011). It is a beautiful spring green foil. It is rather sheer, taking 3 thick-ish coats for opaque-ish finish. I'm not a fan of VNL, but the shininess detracts from the VNL.

Greens - OPI Jade is the New Black

I decided to do a few posts of my favorite greens, what with St. Patrick's Day coming soon.
This first in the series is Jade is the New Black. I found this by accidentally found it in a JC Penney salon at the mall. They found it in the back and threw it on the shelf in time for me to snatch it up!
And, to be a little fancy-pants, I threw on a layer of Hot Topic Teal Sparkle on my ring nails. So blingy.

China Glaze Foie Gras with Essie As Gold As It Gets

I recently used Foie Gras from the China Glaze Hunger Games collection (Capitol Colours) for my NOTD. I got bored with it after 2 days and decided to throw on As Gold As It Gets. I loved the effect! One coat of AGAIG leaves a very dense spattering of tiny gold flakies that is shiny, but also very subtle over a neutral like Foie Gras. It dries very quickly, so I didn't use a top coat. Look at that shine! It wore so well I was begging for a chip so that I could change it. I get so bored so quickly!

Zoya Sasha

Sasha is the free red polish I got from Zoya from their Valentine's Day promo. It's one of those I'd-love-it-even-if-it-really-sucked-because-of-the-name polishes. Sasha is a beautiful, vampy red that really could've done with another coat. This was 2 coats. Next time, I'll definitely do 3 coats.

Paint Box Polish - My new Etsy store!

My name is Pam, and I'm a nerd. I geek out most to Harry Potter. I'm also a knitter, and there is/was never a lack of Harry Potter inspired yarn. Imagine my surprise when I discovered very little in the way of HP polishes. I have been playing with frankening my own polishes, so I decided to start from scratch and make my own. Behold!

Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, and Slytherin

Hufflepuff is a shimmery yellow base with black glitter

Slytherin is an emerald green with small silver glitter

Gryffindor has a shimmery red base and an irregularly shaped gold glitter

Ravenclaw has a deep blue base with irregularly shaped bronze glitter (Canon book colors!)
All of the above swatches are two coats with one coat of Poshe. Hufflepuff has a slightly bumpy texture after the topcoat. The others were perfectly smooth. I am quite the fan, but may be a bit biased. :) I've got more ideas floating around in my brain, and if these actually sell, I plan to mix up more colors. If they don't sell, I can say I had fun playing mad polish scientist.

All polishes are in mini bottles, which hold approximately 6ml. They are selling for $5 each, or in a set of 4 for $18. Visit my store here, and tell me what you think!
